Hello, Friends!

Hi everyone! Welcome to The Clicq- all things travel, fashion, beauty, food and fitness related. If you don’t know me, my name is Brittany! I live in Saskatoon, SK with my newly fiancée and tuxedo cat, Luxerton. Now, if you’re wondering- The Clicq? What is that? Let me tell you… I LOVE champagne- like, a lot! It’s my choice of drink and makes me feel fancy smancy! I’ve tried many kinds and my favourite brand is the Veuve Clicquot- this is the creme de la creme of champagnes (in my opinion- better than the Dom)- so naturally, I wanted my blog to be named after something I loved (sorry, Luxerton) and the Clicq just “clicked” for me! Sometimes, we have those moments that just ‘click” and everything makes sense. So that’s where my blog name was inspired from. Now, if you haven’t tried it, order that fancy glass of champs and enjoy those French little bubbles!

Here’s what this blog is about- besides everything I wrote above, I wanted to start a creative muse where I write about all my favourite things as I quite enjoy when other people provide me with recommendations. I wanted to share my thoughts and recommendations to YOU! I get a lot of questions of “where did you get that?” or “what do you use?” and I myself ask these questions quite bit. I believe in quality over quantity and have learnt this first hand. So many of my favourite things can be expensive but I promise they are worth the price and provide the best results! I also made a commitment this year that I would cut my grocery bill in half and be able to create/explore healthy recipes that are easy and flavourful for the busy lifestyle we all have. So if you love luxurious products but also like to keep things budgeted (like myself) this is the place for you!

So to start things off, here are ten fun facts about me!

1. I have a cat, I rescued him in October 2012- well- sort of- he appeared next to my car and it was a very cold October for YXE so I couldn’t leave him out there. After searching online, driving around looking for posters, I couldn’t bear to drop him off at the SPCA so I decided he would be mine and WOW what an expensive cat he is. I knew when I first got him, he needed a luxurious name. My family came up with “Luxerton” and he couldn’t fit this name more. Fun fact of Luxerton- he ONLY drinks bottled water….
2. I am 30! *30 is the bomb.
3. My favourite place right now is Paris, I LOVE it there and I plan on writing about my experience of when I went and will provide my recommendations. I also plan to go back this year.
4. I recently became engaged!! YAY! It was the biggest surprise and it was the best night ever! (Cheers to NYE!)
5. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree- majoring in English.
6. I have a matching tattoo with my best friend. They are coordinates to the U of S where we first met and had THE BEST uni years! Uni was the best four years of my life- NOT hight school.
7. I am a certified Pilates Instructor. (currently in retirement as life got to busy)
8. I’ve been to Vegas 10 years in a row- I am kind of obsessed- I’ll also write about Vegas one day.
9. I believe girlfriends are your soulmates- I know mine are <3 (I like to believe I am the real life Carrie Bradshaw)
10. My brother is my biggest role model.
