Bridesmaid Proposals

As much as I’d like to say this is easy- it is NOT! I’ve been busy wedding planning since the day I got engaged. Wait, wait, wait… that’s a lie. I’ve had my wedding planned long before! I plan on writing a different blog on all things wedding- the planning, the budgeting and most importantly, creating the best day ever!! We are on a strict budget that I am really hoping to maintain- well I have too- there is no if’s and’s or but’s! Stay tuned (that may not happen until 2021 as our wedding isn’t anytime soon.)

Something that is SO important to me, are my girlfriends and having them stand by me on my special day. I originally only wanted two bridesmaids to keep things simple and sweet. I never wanted to be that bride with a huge wedding party. But as I was making a decision, It’s not as simple as “it’s your day, you do you,” “feelings won’t be hurt,” “it’s not about them, it’s yours and your fiance’s day.” Well no, I went back and forth thinking I could have 2, 3, 4, or 5 bridesmaids. When Colin told me really, it’s between 2 and 5. I did a lot of thinking- I mean A LOT. I realized that I have the BEST of friends. I always say I don’t have a LOT of friends, but I have the BEST of friends. I have 5 girlfriends that have meant so much to me in my life. I have two girlfriends that have been in my life since grade two- GRADE TWO! That is crazy to me. Lots of friendships fade but every time I get together with them (they’re sisters) it feels like we’ve never missed a day. We’ve literally done everything together- school, uni, parties, birthdays, weddings, kids- everything. I have a best friend that I met at a place of employment. I literally spend my Monday to Friday -7 hour days with her. Going on 8 years!! We have grown to become very best friends and our partners have become really close friends. I spend lots of time with her and she feels like family. The two gals I chose to be the Maid of Honour’s- yes TWO- I’m breaking the rules here! Well, they have a very special place in my heart just like the rest. I met the one through Pilates a few years back- I didn’t think I could meet someone at a later age in life and literally feel like we’ve known each other for years and years and years. The other girl, I met my first day of University and she became my BFF that day. We have been inseparable despite living in two different cities. They both are my family. They’re both my sisters. Both of them, I’ve laughed with, cried with, adventured with, gone through the ups, downs and the BEST fricking times of our lives together. This was an obvious YES to have them both be my MOH’s.

Okayyyy back to the actual task at hand here…I wanted to be creative with how I asked them to be in my bridal party. I decided that the way to ask them was through a bridesmaid proposal box. I first wanted to start with a budget… but that went out the door. OOPS! Sorry, Colin- this won’t come out of the wedding fund. Shit adds up FAST! LOL

Can we just admire how cute these champagne glasses turned out?? I chose rose gold as that is one of my wedding colours. I thought we could use these on the day of! Cheers, ladies!

It was pretty easy to assemble, you start with your wooden crate box, fill it with the shredded paper (and you can remove what you don’t need to ensure everything can fit.) I propped up the face mask and taped the card on top of it. Threw in the champagne, frame and calendar. Added the champagne flute at the end. Here is the final product:

This was something so fun and easy to do. The best part? They all said YES!
